The beach at Agia Anna is a continuation of Agios Prokopis beach, a huge long beach which is cut in half by attractive harbour with its fishing boats with the same name as the beach. Next to the harbour there is a forest of race cedar trees which thrive in the hot sand and offer shade to the swimmers. During the summer months the sand dunes are filled with white lilies, which are known as sand lilies. The area is perfect for small children as most of the roads are for pedestrians only. Along the beach road there are restaurants, fish restaurants, bars and supermarkets. Agia Anna beach continues until it turns into Plaka beach which, in its turn, continues on to Orkos. In the 70’s and 80’s Plaka was the favourite beach for the hippies.
